Marketing earlier meant television ads, newspaper articles, radio
promotions, billboards and direct sales. These media helped
marketers reach the right target audiences. But earlier marketers
had limited data on how advertisements worked, how people saw
them, and what made them purchase their products or services.
Digital marketing changed this. Websites, social media, search
engines, Meta ads, mobile applications and other online platforms
made it easy to detect customer’s activities. Current marketers
can now track impressions, clicks, searches, purchases and
engagement clearly and more in depth.
Now, AI in marketing is changing further. Instead
of gathering information, AI can evaluate to find patterns, check
opportunities and make quick marketing decisions.
The role of AI in marketing can now be seen in
understanding various customer groups, recommendations, campaign
improvement, answering customer doubts, creating content, customer
service, content planning and predicting what customers may need
in the future.
However, marketing fundamentals have not disappeared. Brands still
need good positioning, communication, creativity and customer
understanding. What has changed is the huge amount of information
marketers can use to make those decisions, unlike the past, when
only limited information was used to create marketing plans.
